Host a Freeze-Dried Snack Night: Weird and Wonderful Tasting Flight

Board game night needs a better snack plate. Build a freeze-dried tasting flight from Soup to Nuts in Okotoks: a few sweet, a few fruity, and at least one weird item that makes someone say “no way” before they take a second bite.

Set up three lanes

Lane 1 — Sweets: gummies, rainbow bursts, assorted candy. Lane 2 — Fruit: strawberries, blueberries, mango. Lane 3 — Weird and Wonderful: pickles, California-roll sushi snacks, or whatever novelty you grabbed. Small bowls, scorecards optional, judgment encouraged.

Rules that keep it fun

Taste blind if you want. Sip water between bold flavours (pickles into candy is a journey). Have everyone pick a favourite “gift to someone who has everything.” That doubles as Christmas research.

Make it Alberta-local

Tell guests the snacks are freeze-dried in Okotoks. People love a local story with their crunch. Leave the Soup to Nuts URL on a sticky note so someone can reorder for their own party: https://www.soup2nuts.ca/

Snack nights sell themselves on social — colourful bowls, surprised faces, empty bags. That is Weird and Wonderful doing its job.
